Fuel cost = (round-trip miles ÷ truck mpg) × diesel price. Labor cost = labor rate × round-trip drive time. Wear & tear cost = its per-mile rate × round-trip miles — look up a typical maintenance-cost-per-mile figure for your truck if you're not sure what to use. Fixed cost per bushel = (annual insurance + annual license/registration) ÷ contract bushels — neither scales with miles, so this spreads them evenly across your season's volume instead. Total hauling cost per bushel = (fuel + labor + wear & tear) ÷ truck capacity, plus that fixed cost per bushel — the full real cost of that trip per bushel, before any bid is even entered, so you can compare hauling cost across elevators on its own. Net price after all costs = (bid × bushels after shrink − fuel − labor − wear & tear) ÷ truck capacity, minus fixed cost per bushel. Leave any of these at 0 if you don't want to include them.
